Cork graduates show their art at CCAD exhibition
Lord Mayor of Cork Cllr Dan Boyle with professor Alistair Payne, Dean of Faculty of Creative and Performing Arts and Media, and Trish Brennan, head of MTU’s Department of Fine Art and Applied Art, at the opening night of the MTU Crawford Graduate Exhibitions 2025.
The opening nights of the Munster Technological University (MTU) Crawford College of Art and Design Graduate Exhibitions 2025 were held recently.
The exhibitions, held over two days on June 5 and 6, featured work across media communications, fine art and applied art.
The Department of Media Communications and the Department of Fine Art and Applied Art at MTU commented "The opening nights saw an extraordinary turnout from the public, showcasing the vibrant talent and creative innovation of MTU’s graduating students."
Rose McGrath, Head of School at MTU Crawford College of Art and Design, said:
“This year’s exhibitions also mark a proud milestone as we celebrate the formation of the new Faculty of Creative and Performing Arts and Media at MTU.
Ms McGrath added:
"We were especially honoured to welcome Lord Mayor of Cork, Councillor Dan Boyle to the opening of this year’s Fine Art and Applied Art Graduate Exhibition.
"We are very grateful for his thoughtful and encouraging words to our graduating students, which acknowledged their creativity, resilience, and vital contribution to the cultural life and future of Cork.”
The exhibition of work is now also open to the public to be viewed up until Thursday June 12.
MTU CCAD are inviting art lovers, families, employers and the general community to attend and the newest voices of the region in art, design and media.
The Media Communications Exhibition is taking place at the James Barry Exhibition Centre in MTU Bishopstown Campus up to June 12 from 10am- 4pm each day.
The Fine Art + Contemporary Applied Art Exhibition takes place at the Sharman Crawford Street Campus in Cork City Centre from 11am- 6pm each day (Late opening until 8:30pm on Thu 12th).
Meanwhile select works are available for purchase at the Sharman Crawford Street exhibition.
