Lady Anderson was ed by other peers at Westminster in condemning ‘the appalling acts of racist thuggery’ seen on the streets of Ballymena.

The woman, who was in her 80s, died following a collision with a grey Seat Ateca in the Doagh Road area of Newtownabbey on January 13.

Suspected cannabis, cocaine and ketamine were discovered within food packaging following a search in Newtownabbey.

It is believed that Kenneth McClean-Flanagan, 26, murdered his mother Ms McClean-Flanagan, 50, and girlfriend Ms Knell, 30, in Newtownabbey in 2021.

The incident happened in the early hours of Thursday.

Kyle Knell, 29, with an address at Tynan Drive in Newtownabbey, was brought before Belfast Magistrates’ Court on Saturday.

The officer suffered non life-threatening injuries in the incident on Monday evening

The victim’s injuries are not believed to be life threatening.

The suspects were held as part of a probe into the smuggling of drugs into Northern Ireland from the Republic of Ireland.

The collision occurred on the O’Neill Road in Glengormley.

The event was Detective Chief Inspector John Caldwell’s first public appearance since the attack in Co Tyrone earlier this year

It is their first visit since the coronation.

The man who died was 40-year-old Colin Crawley from Newtownabbey.

The incident happened in Newtownabbey on the outskirts of Belfast.

Mr McNab, from north Belfast, died on Friday evening following a serious assault in the Rathcoole area, police said.
